Our UKAS accredited Insulating Glass Units (IGU) scheme is designed to provide manufacturers of IGUs the means to demonstrate that their products meet the relevant European Standards for their manufacture. This is done through initial type testing of the product design, implementation and monitoring of the FPC, with regular FPC audits and audit tests to verify the ongoing performance of the product. The scheme is designed to verify compliance with BS EN 1279, with additional assessment requirements over the minimum level required for UKCA / CE Marking. The scheme applies to air and gas filled IGUs.

Initial Type Test requirements
In order for the appraisal to be conducted, the manufacturer must supply evidence to the following standards for each product design to be covered:

Initial & surveillance factory audits
An initial audit will be required for each factory to be covered by the scheme, followed by annual surveillance visits for each factory that has accredited ISO9001 certification, or bi-annual surveillance visits for each factory that does not have accredited ISO9001 certification.
