Our UKAS accredited scheme is designed to provide companies who maintain fire resistant doorsets with the means to demonstrate that their standard of maintenance will be appropriate, such that the fire-resistant properties of the doorset will be retained during maintenance operations. This is done by verification that the company has ensured that the maintainer has been suitably trained, followed by an audit of maintenance activities conducted at their customer sites, to verify the standard of maintenance carried out by the maintainer and the operatives under their control is acceptable. Ongoing inspections are then conducted once certification has been achieved. Maintenance audits may be undertaken on either completed maintenance activities, or those that are taking place.

For the Fire Door Maintenance scheme customers are required to have completed the maintenance on the doorset prior to us arriving (either on that date or recently before the audit) so the Bluesky auditors can review the maintenance and inspection work.
