UK Approval Body services to allow manufacturers of fire resistant and panic exit doorsets to UKCA mark their products in line with the Construction Products Regulations.
UKCA Marking for Fire Doorsets
This scheme applies to external fire resistant doorsets and the applicable standard is BS EN 16034. You will demonstrate to us that to comply with all of the requirements of the standard, and that your documentation for UKCA marking (e.g. Declaration of Performance, UKCA marks) has been correctly produced.
In order to join the scheme an FPC and sampling audit(s) will be required, then you will need to obtain test evidence for your doorset, together with a classification report. If you have already carried out testing, we will need to confirm whether it is acceptable for the scheme – it is therefore advisable to check with your UK Approval Body first before undertaking any testing.
Once certified, annual audit visits are required to confirm the manufacturer’s ongoing compliance.
Firestopping installation Scheme
This scheme applies to panic exit doorsets and the applicable standard is BS EN 14351-1. You will need to demonstrate to us that you comply with all of the requirements of the standard, and that your documentation for UKCA marking (e.g. Declaration of Performance, UKCA marks) has been correctly produced.
In order to join the scheme an FPC will be required once you have obtained appropriate documentation to prove your product complies. Once certified, annual audit visits are required to confirm the manufacturer’s ongoing compliance.
