Fire Door Installation
The correct installation of a fire doorset is crucial to retain the fire resistant performance. Incorrect installation can reduce the fire resistant performance to that of a normal doorset, meaning that you won’t achieve the required protection in the event of a fire.
Our fire door installation scheme is designed to verify that doorsets are installed in accordance with either the manufacturer’s instructions or relevant industry accepted standards, to ensure that the fire resistant performance is retained.
For complete confidence, you should also consider choosing a certified product. Click for details of our fire door scheme.
Fire door inspection
After a fire doorset has been installed, it is important that regular inspections are carried out, to determine whether maintenance or repair is required. It is important that as part of the inspection process, any issues that may compromise the fire resistance performance are properly identified and recorded.
Our fire door inspection scheme is designed to verify that companies carrying out inspection do so methodically and effectively, using staff that have undergone appropriate training.
Once an inspection has been carried out, for complete confidence, you should consider ensuring that all repair and maintenance work is done under our fire door maintenance scheme, or if a doorset requires replacement, this is done under our fire door installation scheme.
Fire door maintenance
Under the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (RRFSO), fire doorsets must be regularly maintained to ensure that they will operate as expected in the case of a fire. Any repairs to the doorset must be done in such a way that re-instates the original specification. It is important that this is done correctly in order to maintain the fire resistant performance. Incorrect maintenance can reduce or even remove the fire resistant performance of a doorset, meaning that you won’t achieve the required protection in the event of a fire.
Our fire door maintenance scheme is designed to verify that doorsets are maintained in accordance with the either the manufacturers instructions or relevant industry accepted standards, to ensure that the fire resistant performance is retained.
